Privacy Policy
How we collect, use and protect your personal data.
Last updated: October 2026
1. Who We Are
Youth Without Borders Ltd (“YWB”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is a company limited by guarantee registered in England and Wales (Company No. 17393339), with its registered address in Kidlington, Oxfordshire, England.
We are the data controller for the personal information collected through this website. If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, please contact us at hello@youthwithoutborders.co.uk.
2. What Data We Collect
We only collect personal data that you provide to us directly:
Contact form — when you submit our contact form, we collect your name, email address, organisation name (optional) and the content of your message. We use this solely to respond to your enquiry.
Cookie preference — when you interact with our cookie banner, we store your choice (accepted or declined) in your browser's local storage. This is a technical necessity to remember your preference and is not a cookie itself.
We do not collect any data automatically, run user tracking, or use third-party advertising networks. We do not collect data from children under 13.
3. How We Use Your Data
To respond to enquiries — contact form submissions are sent directly to our team by email. We read your message and reply to you. We do not add you to any mailing list or use your details for any other purpose without your explicit consent.
To improve your experience — if you accept cookies, we may use analytics tools in the future to understand how visitors use the site and improve our content. No analytics are active unless you have accepted.
4. Our Legal Basis
Under the UK GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases:
Legitimate interest — for processing contact form submissions to respond to your enquiry. It is in both our and your interest that we can communicate with you about your request.
Consent — for any analytics cookies or non-essential tracking. You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking “Decline” in the cookie banner or clearing your browser's local storage.
5. Cookies and Local Storage
Our website uses browser local storage (not traditional cookies) to remember one thing: whether you have accepted or declined our cookie notice. This preference is stored only in your browser and is never sent to our servers.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| cookie-consent | Local storage | Stores your cookie preference (accepted / declined) | Until cleared |
If you accept cookies and we activate analytics in the future, we will update this policy with full details of any additional cookies set.
6. Third-Party Services
To operate this website we use a small number of trusted third-party services. Each acts as a data processor on our behalf:
Vercel — our website is hosted on Vercel's infrastructure. Vercel may process your IP address and browser information as part of normal web server operation. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
Resend — we use Resend to send and receive contact form emails. Your name, email address and message are transmitted through Resend's servers to reach our inbox. See Resend's Privacy Policy.
Sanity — our website content (projects and news posts) is served from Sanity's content delivery network. No personal data is stored in or processed by Sanity. See Sanity's Privacy Policy.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data with any third party for their own marketing purposes.
7. Data Retention
We keep contact form emails for as long as is necessary to handle your enquiry and any follow-up communication — typically no longer than two years. If you would like your data deleted sooner, please contact us and we will do so promptly.
Your cookie preference is stored in your browser's local storage until you clear it manually.
8. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
Erasure — request that we delete your personal data (“right to be forgotten”).
Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.
Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
Object — object to processing based on legitimate interest.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@youthwithoutborders.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). We would, however, appreciate the chance to address your concerns first — please contact us before approaching the ICO.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
